hey does anyone know what the VL's stock wheel size is?

i just got a vl commodore and it has brand new tires on it (stock wheels). ive also got a spare pare of vl calais mags in the back shed. as the calais mags are 15 inch, i was wondering whats the size of the stock vl wheel's? Just wanting to know if i can change the tyres over or not. Cheers!

Have a look on the tyre , it will say something like 205 65 R15 or 185 70 R14 . The R14 will mean you have 14 inch rims but if it says R15 they will most likely fit the 15 inch rims

The 2 sizes quoted above were the stock size tyres as fitted to the 14" and 15" wheels on stock VLs - and the overall rolling diameter is practically the same, so it won't matter if you have 15" or 14" wheels - as long as the tyre dimensions are OK.

205/65/R15 was standard issue.

215/60/R15 are a good upgrade, but that's about the safe limit for the 6" rim.

225s tend to flex too much in the sidewall because they bulge too much.
Cheers,

Mick

I agree with Mick , and you will also find that not many tyre services will fit a tyre that wide to a 6" rim . I think it is against the law for them to do so .
