Hi Tom
A 23-3111 WW is off an HX/HZ/LX/VB 4.2 V8 auto from May '77 to Mar '80.
The correct carby code for an HG 186 S auto is 23-3036.

Thanks Dr Terry, that is interesting - so the HG got a different carb to the HK (23-202)? I wonder if there is any real difference. Does anyone know if the 23-3036 has the single vacuum spark hole like the 23-202? Similarly, I have a manifold to suit but

Hi Tom.
AFAIK the 23-202 is US made & the 23-3036 is Australian, also the linkage on the side appears different.
Jetting is very similar.

HR manifolds have part numbers:
Auto: 7433690 Man: 7433689
The HK-HG parts manuals all list 7434447 as the part number for the 186S, however the very early HK book (yellow) lists the manual engine part number as 7434448. Two of the parts manuals ha |

Hi Dr Terry, thanks again, my stromberg book only goes to 68 but lists the 201/202 for HK man/auto
Thanks also to Byron for that info. I thought the yellow book was later - I guess the blue one is a better reference then?
Regards, Tom

No. Definitely not, especially if you are restoring an early HK. There are a lot of mistakes in the blue book, and revisions where the type 1 327 bits have been changed out for later bits. For example the part number listed for the type 1 327 head is wron |
