Been having some troubles with plugs in my VS. Its got a 10 psi pulley and a 160 deg F thermostat. The first time I replaced the plugs I used NGK's from the local auto parts. The plugs I removed were Delco's. After fitting the new plugs the car had a bad miss. Long story short I ended up removing all the new NGK plugs, and measuring them from the tip to the electrode with a multimeter. They all measured about 4K ohms, except one which was stuffed and measured about 1M ohm. So one of the new NGK's was rooted. Next time I replaced them, just recently, I decided to get the plugs from Holden so I went to Suttons warehouse at Lidcombe, in Carter St. He handed me a packet of six plugs with a genuine Holden parts sticker on them, but when I opened the packet the plugs were NGK's! (wtf). So I put the new plugs in this time, and the car ran like sh!t again. Pulled 'em all out and checked with the meter, 3 of the 6 were bad. It seems that a good plug measures at about 4K. So I've ended up putting 3 of the old plugs back in, and it's running sweet as again. What's the go with these spark plugs for the blown V6? Edited by user Tuesday, 30 August 2005 8:34:01 AM(UTC)

Hi Supercharged V6.
Use NGK plugs, but don't bother with the resistor type.
Also if the car has done more than 100,000 km, replace the ignition leads as well.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

I replaced the leads with genuine Holden, and also replaced the PCV at the last service, the car has done 214,000k's. Any ideas on what NGK plug to use (part number) if I go for the non-resistor type?
