hey guys
does any one know the website for gen 3 crate engines. I have been told they are around $7000 to $8000 grand for a standard engine, computer, wiring harness and in some cases the gear box. and does any one no the horse power or Kw of a standard gen 3 engine. I know that they get good fuel economy if your sensible roughly 10.5 litres to 100 km
thanx

When the VE model comes out all v8`s will be gen-4 6.0 , I hope they know how to make a 6.0 less thirsty or the sales will suffer !

yeah but people that want performance will pay extra money for fuel. a carbied 350 with 350 gorse power would drink twice the fuel as a gen 3 or gen 4.

Gotta agree with Zac...although the price of fuel will dampen demand for V8 and probably V6 motors for a while.

In my experience, the Gen3 is more economical than a carbied or injected 5 litre.

Certainly, while towing a van from Perth to Darwin and

Qute how many kw does your vy ss have
I have a HT ute and what I would like to do is put a gen 3 in it with a 6 speed and 4:1:1 nine inch. The only thing that scares me about the gen 3 is that they dont have a steel crank but you can bye them for $80

About 265Kw, Zac, or 355 HP if you prefer.

Don't worry about the crank...it'll rev to 6,300 rpm all day.

Worry about which version of the pistons you're getting... The early ones use oil, the late ones (post mid-93 or so) don't use much. I find that

yep i no lucky my day is a panel beater
all you have to do is is modify the fire wall (mostly where the bell housing goes)and the gear box hump tunnel thing. is there any other mods. Is the tremec 6 speed a tough box.
