Had a guy talking to me today says he has a Monaro he is rebuilding, and in the course of hunting bits he came across a HK Brougham with 6 miles on it. Apparently it was bought new by a couple in Victoria or NSW and on their way in to town to pick it up they were killed in a train crash. The car sat on hold for some years while the estate was cleaned up eventually a guy here bought it and brought it to WA he now wants $35000 for it. Also this guy came a cross a couple who were tidying up their house and in the garage there was a Monaro in immaculate but dusty condition been there 15 or 20 years their son owned the car and was killed in an accident (not in the car) and the car has sat there since. They are keeping it because of the sentimental value and won't sell it.
Urban myth? Who knows?
Personally I am sceptical but due to the nature of the fellow I was talking to maybe true...

The only flaw in the story is if they had not taken posession of the car then it would not be part of the estate, they would have lost their deposit and the dealer would have sold it to someone else.

There are plenty of cars in sheds around Australia,

Hi John, I am glad you added the bit about "due to the nature of the guy", as i am he!! I had no reason to lie to you. What i told you was word for word from the horses mouth. By now you would have seen the HK Monaro for $79.000 in www.drive.com.au just a

Peter I was in no doubt you were telling the truth about the Monaro because you said you saw it, the Brougham I thought you were told about yourself, if so maybe you were misled, however if you saw it then it exists!
One has to be careful when talking a

No worries John, just for the record, the guy who now owns the Broughham never mentioned a deposit..Warren did, as far as i know, the vehicle was paid for in full, and waiting to be collected.
