Hi all, Just wondering if a Turbo 350 gearbox will fit straight onto any of the current era engines that normally fit up to the Turbo 700. An example could be the Gen III or even Gen IV, will the TH350 bolt straight on? Also, I believe the crossmember mounts are different positions and that one gearbox is longer than the other and would req. a special driveshaft cut to size if swapping between gearboxes, but what about the shifter position, would it be possible to reuse the same shifter/console arrangement with mods in the linkages if req? How do the linkages compare between the 350 and the 700? Is there any other differences from early 700's to late 700's other than being computerised? sorry about all the q's! cheers, Ben

LS1's have a missing bolt hole on the back of the block, but the box will still bolt up. just dont try to drill the extra hole.
from VR onwards they switched to the 4L60E which is electronicly controlled and i dont think it has a conventional selector

Hi Guys.
Yes, the Gen 3 & Gen 4 V8s still use the same pattern (minus 1 bolt).
The 4L60E still uses a normal shifter & linkage on the LHS of the box.
The electronics are only for the timing of the 1-2-3-4 gearchanges & for the torque converter l |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Thanks for the info guys, I was actually looking at the mods for the other way round Dr Terry, currently have old V8 and Turbo 350 but would one day like a more recent motor with more punch, refinement and better economy. The overdrive turbo 700 would be
