AFAIK they all start with M. No idea what S19 is though. If it's stamped it could be the mark of a reconditioner. 179HP engines are good for one thing over and above any other red 6 - to make an EH original. Nothing else is special about them, relative to |

Hi trebor.
The Starfire 4 rods & the Blue/Black 6 rods are the same & are the ideal upgrade to any Holden Red 6. They fit straight in.

if you use the crank and rods from a blue 3.3ltr and bore to 192 you will have a 208 stroker for this you will need to have the crank ground also if you use starfire rods 11/32 arp h/duty rod bolts fit cheers charles

Charles is giving you good advice on the stroker, but you should only do this is you really want/need the engine to look like a 186 from outside. Otherwise you might as well use a red 202 rope block and you don't have to grind the mains down on the blue c |

You are better off buying a new aftermarket pump eg JP, and they suit all red/blue/black 6's. What are you going to put the engine into? You might be able to save all hassles and use the blue/black block. You will find rope red 202's in most late HQ-HZ an |

Motor will eventually go into my hk 69 brougham, so i understand that i wont have any ADR hassles, but will check this out first with Trans Dept QLD.For no real reason i have always preferred the 186 to 202, so the 208 stroker build up appealed to me. i u

Use a red block with a blue/black crank if you are using a single carb. 208 stroker is a misnomer, just like a 192. Look at it this way. A 186 and 202 share the same bore. Put a 202 crank into a 186 and what do you have? A 202. Bore this combo or any 202 |

Hi Rob,
As you are in QLD, check VERY carefully with the Transport/Rego mob up there. You may be limited to an HQ or earlier block OR have to put ALL the pollution control equipment on the motor if it is a later one.
The general rule is that you hav
