Got a problem with my T5. Grinds into second something shocking, syncro, fair enough but could it damage the main shaft. Iv been skipping 2nd gear and going to 3rd to avoid crunching. Is there main faults with these boxes?
You know what they say...If you cant find 'em...grind'em

Matt, I had a VL turbo for years. It was an auto and I converted it to manual for a bit more fun. Ended being a quicker car than when it ran the auto. When I installed the T5 from another VL I had similar problems. Going from neutral to fisrt it would gri

Who makes adapter kits to put the T5 behind a VL turbo?
From the factory they ran their own (MX7) Nissan 5 speed, which was stronger than the non-turbo version(MF5). It would be a backward step going to a T5.

Commodorenut, I was always under the impression that a T5 was what they ran.Now I know differently. Positive feedback and information is good. Negative feedback and comments, we can all do with out.

Aaron...
Commodorenut wasn't having a go at you. The last line of his reply is his "signature", and is on the bottom of all his posts.
However I can see from reading this thread that it would be quite easy to conclude that the signature could appea |

It can also be done by putting "Cheers...." and your name between the body and the witticism... In Mick's defence, I have NEVER seen him post anything negative. Cheers...Dave Edited by user Sunday, 2 October 2005 5:09:09 PM(UTC)

Went to the Grampians yesterday. Was a tad disappointed after Tassie though....The Grampians look a lot like the Stirling Ranges down near Albany in WA, even the bush is similar...
Went to the 56/57 Chev Club's triennial meeting in Bendigo today...that

Comments about sig noted, and I have modded it to avoid the same confusion occurring again.
The Nissan box behind the VL 6 is a much nicer box to shift than the T5, and they are much more refined than the T5.
I was actually thinking along the lines |

T5's do have a tendancy to go through synchro's, depending on the stick shifter (ie driver)

T5's were behind the V8's, the Nissan box behind the 6's in the VL's. I think the V6 VN - VS ran a variant of the T5.
