BIt of a warning people. Got myself a new heater core for hj caprice i'm restoring off rare spares as there discription says "CORE HEATER HJ-WB WILL FIT HQ WITH MODIFICATION" assuming that hj-wb is straight swap over if i had a hq i would need to modify it, recieved it in the mail went to put it in and the pipes were in the wrong place and it's almost 20mm thinner then the original unit, the only way it would fit is if i chop the incomming and out going pipes off completely and attach them to the side of the unit as they come straight out the front of the new unit also the pipes extend out from the unit befor they go forward and the pipes are a diffrent diameter then the orignal, i also had a old hx heater core laying around and i checked the new one against this and guess what she no fits, i then emailed rarespares asking a question as if i was going to buy the new unit

"I have a hj caprice and i'm looking at buying a new heater core for it whilst im restoring it now the heater core you sell pt no 9939196 looks nothing like mine on mine the pipes come out of the side of the unit across a bit and then out also it looks to thin as the current one is quite thick wil this unit suit ? as you description says hj-wb
"

the reply i got

"Thank you for your enquiry,
If you can modify it to fit, that’s great, alternatively contact Aussie Desert Coolers, they will offer you a price to recondition your unit,
Regards,
Jason Patterson
Assistant Manager"

in other words don't buy there unit as it won't fit go to a radiator place and get yours recond as i'm now going to do :)

my whinge over :)

Does your Stato have Aircon? The heater cores for the HQ - WB cars with aircon are different to those without.

Cheers...Dave

Thanks for the feedback.
You can send it back for a full refund if you like. I will look into the problem to find out what went wrong and post the result on Fastlane

After checking with our manufacturer we have been informed that these cores have been mislabelled and they are in fact WB Statesman with air. I have taken steps to make the ones we do not have
