G'day All, I never realised how much difference it would make, but I made a panel out of MDF and upholstered it with foam and material and put it behind the seats to cover the bare metal panel, which was visible since I put the buckets in, and now she seems to be quieter inside the cabin , not so much road noise and vibration at high speeds, I'll have to have a look at what else I can sound proof on the old girl. Anybody got any ideas?Cheers. Russ.

Yeah mate I just used an old bit of MDF off the back of a wardrobe, and attached it with adhesive backed velcro, so it can be taken in and out(dont know why I would need to ,but if I do the option is there anyway. With your B pillars filled with foam, ho

Bitumen spray under the carpet and or car itself also make the ride a bit quieter, as well as inside the doors (also improves acoustics aswell for the stereo). I went a bit crazy with mine and coated the floor pan, inside of the firewall, doors... seems

The airflow is fine. Didn't fill all of them. Just from the roof line to about level with the top of the door so the vent in the pillars are not blocked at all. Not real sure about the noise. I drove the car about 2 k's after I bought it ($

Can I ask a question about expandable foam? I've also thought about using it in the past to help quieten road noise, but what's the stuff made of? is it 'neutral' or will it hold water and cause rust? could you or would you ever need to remove it again?

It smells a little bit of solvent but not acetic acid like silicone. I don't know what it's made of but it sticks like s**t to a blanket. There are lots of different brands so I suppose you could contact one of the companies and ask? It get

Holden has also used it in some later commodore pillars.
The problem I have come across is not the foam itself, but the water that condenses on the underside of the roof, and runs down the pillar, sitting on the foam, causing rust at that point.
