Can anyone advise me on whether or not a 245/60/15 and 275/50/15 combo will fit onto a 73 HQ Statesman without any problems like scrubbing on the body/tyres. Rims are SIMMONS B45 7"& 8" wide respectively. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Call my mobile if you prefer. 0410125020. Also if this size is ok, then how wide can I go?

Oh sh+t ! 245 = 10-ish" 275 - 12-ish" Assuming the tubs are bog standard I think 8" will be pushing it on a HQ without cut or flared guards.
Also what is the offset or PCD on these suckers ? Did the rims come off a newer car or another HQ ?
How

Mate thanks for responding to my questions. The rims are suited to HQ-WB.Thats all I know. I have not yet received them from the seller. I intended to fit 8" rim to front and 9.5" at rear. However I am guessing that I'm getting to wide. Rear is not tubbed

Damien,
Sorry mate its out of my depth of knowledge. This could be an ask BYRON RICH or TAZ2 question now !
It may also depend on what State Laws say too ! I think NSW is 8" max.

Forget the 9.5 inch rims on a HQ sedan. I've got a pair of 15 x 9.5 US racers with 275 x 60 x 15 tyres on the rear of a tonner sitting in my shed. There is NO WAY these would fit under sedan guards. They are almost as big as 10R15 4X4 tyres. I had a HJ GT |

Thanks again guys for your replys. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but stupid old me will probably push the envelope and see what I can do. Perhaps I will try 235/60/15 fronts and 255/60/15 rears. What do you think?

235/60/14 tyres on 14x7 hotwires or similar offset rims with lowered suspension scrape on a HQ front - 235/60/15 will be worse unless the offset is spot on. 255/60/15 - good luck! These are around 2-3 inches taller than the original tyres. Some registrat |
