Hi there guys and gals, I have what i thought was a buckled wheel as it was wobbling all over the place. Just come from the tyre shop and the wheel is 100% straight. I had a new wheel bearing fitted at Xmas.
Not knowing much about from the wheel inwards... could it be a bent axle as it only happens on the drivers side?
Would it be easier to buy another complete diff. Question is, how do you test such a thing easily as i dont want to buy another one with the same issue.
Thanks

can you get someone to drive behind you and see which wheel it is? if its only the axle not a real hard job to fix.

It is almost certainly a bent axle. The wheel would be on a slight angle if the housing was bent but it would not wobble.
There is probably only about three ways to see if a second hand axle is straight. One is to turn it in a lathe and put a dial

A 9" behind a 253? No way...9" diffs chew up waaay too much HP to use them unless you need the extra strength.
Cheers...Dave
