I am doing a HZ front and rear brake conversion on my HG Ute.
Question is what size rear wheel cylinders do I use.
I have used the stock HG booster and master cylinder.
I have a full set of new HQ rear breaks with new stock HQ wheel cylinders.
I am unsure how they will mate up to the HG booster etc.
Will the rear breaks lock up because the proportioning is out.
If so what size and type/model rear wheel cylinders do I use.

Use the std HQ wheel cyls with a HQ proportioning valve and a HG disc brake master cyl and make sure you fit the calipers the right way up. It may sound obvious but I have seen it done a few times before. We recently had a guy bring his Torana in for us t

I has hoping I would not have to use the HQ proportioning valve as I have had new break lines made up.
Is the proportioning valve essential for HQ front breaks to make the rears operate correctly.
Can the proportioning valve be not fitted as in the

Are HQ rear brakes the same as HG rears on a disk front model? Found out the hard way that 'apparently' disk & drum fronts have different rear cylinders & pads. I assume your ute HG was a disk front to start with?

I am not sure if you will need a proportioning valve or not. You could start by experimenting with wheel cylinders first. A car without an ABS system should lock all wheels under hard breaking but providing the front lock just before the rear you will b

The HG disc front ran 9/16 rear wheel cyls and the shoes to suit. The HQ ran 7/8 rear wheel cyls.My HR has LH discs and calipers on it with 9/16 rear wheel cyls and shoes but it uses the std disc brake master cyl, it all works fine but it has never had b

You are on the right track HGV8 Ute.
I have HZ front callipers and rear HQ drums using the standard HQ 7/8 inch wheel cylinder and they work very well.
With so many variables and mixing and matching, it might be necessary to fine tune front/rear balan

I think you will find the break you have in the message is as,if I keep jumping up and down on this seat it will break. The word you are referring to should be spelt b r a k e, this is the brake on a car. Hope I have assisted you in some small way.

Well maths isn't my specialty but sure if you need help,I would recommend the best course of action for you is to see your maths teacher or ask your Mother and Father I'm sure they would be only to happy to assist I know I would.
