Well I was told it was a standard Cam by the Mech, He could tell by listening to it. ??. When I put my foot on the brake at idle the engine seems to stumble a bit and then regains idle ( the usual rough idle of course). How ca ya tell if ya a tooth

Sounds about right Jimbob.

When you spray the water/detergent mix around, you are giving the bits a good soaking, aren't you?

You need the solution to cover and seal any leaks for a couple of seconds so you can pick up that the idle has changed.

Also may pay to do a compression test both wet and dry. A leaking valve can cause similar problems.

thanks guys, The yella terra head is single post adjustable type. The exhaust extractors were found on the engine when bought from wreckers, 2" pipe 1 yr old. I thought I was giving the joints a good watering with the leak check, I heard no drop in

check for a burnt valve. before it gets too hot, place your hand over the tailpipe. If your hand gets sucked in occasionally you have a burnt valve
