HELP.... 308 bottom end unknown origin.

My brother has come across an engine, not sure from what model and make, im not too sure if i can give the full engine number out online, but if any one can help the engine number is QT 42****. cjmartin Edited by user Tuesday, 25 October 2005 9:53:03 AM(UTC)

Based on the limited information you have given us, it is a high compression 308 from an HQ - HZ Holden. Anything else you need to know?

The engine number prefix is approx Sep/Oct 1973 as it has the same first 2 digits as my december 1973 Monaro. This can be confirmed by looking at the casting number as follows: Approx 23 H 3 = 23 AUGUST 1973
