Dose anyone know how to get scratches out of car windows. on a hq.

I used to use a thing called cerium oxide (i think that's how it's spelt) when I was making the lenses for glasses. You need to use a fair bit of pressure and an electric buff. Don't know how it would go on side and rear windows. They are toughened

Take the glass to a windscreen repairer. They can polish most scratches out of glass and bring them up like new again. Deep scratches are real hard to get out, and even if you do, you are changing the thickness of the glass in the area, thus making it h

I have never had the need to try it, but I have been told that toothpaste will get rid of fine scratches in glass.

Can't confirm the toothpaste on glass, but on instrument cluster plastic lenses it works well.
Need to get the white powdery stuff & not the gel types though!

Any tips for getting the weather stain/marks out on the outside of door glass? Selling me other car soon and you can really see the----I guess like a cloudy stain?--- on all the door glass on the outside?? Cheers

for stains, get some "mothers Glass and Chrome polish" or even just cut and polish. will get rid of water marks etc with ease.
VN Calais, V8 Auto, Blown etc etc.
Air con, Electrical, Car audio Master.

The cloudy stain is probably calcium from the hard water. Try mum's calacium remover there is a common product CSL or something that takes it straight off. Or try the red plumber's priming fluid but don't use the red it is available in clear. Red will sta

I tried to get the cerium oxide but couldn't find it. The local chemist just gave me that blank look.

Give a local optical lens grinder a go. I worked for OPSM at the time. Left there 23 years ago and was the best thing I ever did. We used to use it to polish the lenses after grinding. It's good stuff but it does need to be used with a bit of spee

Try finding a "Compounding Chemist". These guys do keep all the old chemicals, and mix up pastes, etc, on demand from doctors, and from foundation chemicals. Might have more luck...
