G'day fella's. Just wanting to know if it is possible to fit an adjustible hydaulic flow valve to the pressure side of the power steering hoses to regulate the pressure being put into the steering box. I think it may be pushing to much pressure because the pump is VK rack and the box is Standard HQ.

The steering is still to light even more know I took the 215s off the front and put light trucks on instead. The arms are the right length as I got them checked but all the steering places say is "Nah mate ya box and pump need a rebuild." But there is no play at all in the steering, it's just to light to handle. Kind of where I got the idea that the commadore pump pushes to much pressure for the HQ box.

If a man say's something in the woods and there is no women around, is he still wrong?

G'day Chris, I only have a VN manual here but working off of that there is higher pressure from commy to HQ. The standard HQ pump runs at around 900-1000psi but the commy (VN anyway) runs at around 1300-1450psi. With all the V6 V8 commodore conversions ge

Hi Chris.

The difference in max pressure between the 2 pumps doesn't matter, it's only on 'lock' that the box sees that amount. In the normal straight ahead position & off centre the pressure is lower.

Your problem is either in the box or in the whe

I've recently had a holden HQ power steering box fitted to my Jeep CJ7. Works a treat - with a wranler TJ pitman arm the steering geometry is perfect. My problem is that there is too much free play in the steering box. Is this an easy adjustment or doe
