Hi folks
Can someone tell me what carby was standard on the 253 engine. Also are there better alternatives?
I have bought a HQ 253 which has a Holley 350(I think) are these a reasonable carby to run on the 253?

The 253 came out with a 2 barrel Stromberg.
A 350 Holley is fine on a 253 if jetted correctly. In a manual they run well, but tend to be flat off the mark.

I agree with John. One thing Holden was good at was maximising the potential of their 6 and 8 cylinder engines wrt what was fitted as standard (except for the cam). That is why the best streetable setups for any particular engine is generally what was sta |

Looks like I go shopping for a Quadrajet and a HEI dissy.
Anyone in Brisvegas got any of these goodies?
