Hi folks

Can someone tell me what carby was standard on the 253 engine. Also are there better alternatives?

I have bought a HQ 253 which has a Holley 350(I think) are these a reasonable carby to run on the 253?

The 253 came out with a 2 barrel Stromberg.

A 350 Holley is fine on a 253 if jetted correctly. In a manual they run well, but tend to be flat off the mark.

The overall concensus is that a Quadrajet is best. The bore size on a Quad is smaller than a
