G'day,
I have a 202 block that I intend on building up from scratch with performance parts, Ive been told this is possible with a budget of around the 1000 dollar mark, Is that realistic? Can anyone put me onto some good online advice on the issue and also wheres the best place to purchase the parts from.
Cheers max

Depends on wot you want to do if you want to put a cain manifold or similar manifold and a 350holley, s/h yella terra head, and extractors and exhuast. but that is probably over a grand there.

Personally I don't think it is realistic, unless you are going to only account for the machine work in that $1000

You could do a EFI conversion for less than that.

im with peter_smol.
if you wanna do the job right its not realistic.
costs a lot more than that to buy 1/2 decent gear.

Agree with the fellas... I spent near on $4000 working up a HP (179) just recently. If you want a standard rebuild, i believe they come in close to $1200 themselves.

If you could do all your own machine work (or get it cheap), and want 'decent' gear
