do you need to run an adapter plate when runing a rochester carb on a edelbrock performer holden manifold. Im not running a adaptor plate and the standard gasket is geting sucked into the engine. the manifold originally had an adaptor plate and a 600 holly. any info would be great. where is the best place to get a reco rochester from.

The gasket you need is a Mr Gasket P/N MRG-759

It is 1/4" thick and acts as a heat shield as well as a gasket seal.
