I brought a Sailsbury diff and I got a drive shaft that was for a sailsbury The problem I have is the rectangle block that the driveshaft uni goes into on the front of the diff is a little bigger than my universal Its the same size as a 1 tonner. There seems to be 3 sizes banjo sailsbury and 1 tonner. It has a large nut in the centre I was thinking of undoing it and putting one off another car that was the same size as my drive sharf uni. I tired to undo it I put some crc on it. I blocked the wheels and used a strong arm and a jack under it to undo it. But its not budging. Is the thread normal or is it reverse???? And will I break something in the diff by putting more strain on it ?? The manual says hold the rectangle bit and undo the nut. Its in the car so hard to put in the vice lol Help ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Any advice apprecited. heres a pic of me car oh and excuse the ford in the back ground. http://www.geocities.com/keithholden/HQholden.html

Don't take it off! There is a collapseable spacer on the pinion that makes it almost impossible to get the right preload again. What vehicle is it in? It may be easier to change the tailshaft. If not, you can get a conversion uni-joint that has the 1-tonn Edited by user Tuesday, 22 November 2005 3:33:44 AM(UTC)
