Hi i live in melbourne

Im looking for places to bye reco engings
im after a 308 and im to nervious to bye one out of
trading post in case its Stuffed.
So i only dound one place called R E engines and
wounding if any one knows any good Places
where i can get a engine from?

buy a stuffed engine from a wreckers, they will sell you something rebuildable,pay no more than $400 take it to "high torque" in high street preston for rebore ets, take cylinder heads to "head sense" in bendigo surrounding suburbs (dont have the address,

Don't repco do reco/exchange short motors? they will give you a warranty.. that's if you just want a stocker..?

If you are buying a
'stuffed motor' make sure it has no more than 40thou rebore because they will take it out to 60 if you buy a 60 it cannot be rebored.
Also pay about $100 - $20 for it and make sure you get the manifolds flywheel water pumpetc they a

Actually that should read $100 - $120 not $20. If there is not much lip on the top of the bores it may not need reboring.

i once bought a vc 4cyl reco motor from repco, when it arrived it was a HM GEM motor and it was a...well lets just say it was NOT a very good rebuild.

edit- sorry it was a VH model, with the air injection...

I had my last engine (351 cleveland) done by Wellington Engines in Northern Road West Heidelberg. It's a small place with only a couple of employees. The boss, Jeff Wellington also does some of the machining. Took my stuffed motor to him and told hi

i have a 308 turbo pattern short motor with nice bores (std), turns freely but yet to drop the sump for a gander. also a pair of heads from same motor in good nick. are you interested? im near the grampians in west vic
