I've been looking around to get my 308 recond in my hj caprice and its looking to cost me almost as much as to buy a fully built and ready to go 350chev crate motor, so i was wondering how much is there that needs changing to make it fit mainly just concerend about drive train nameley will diff transmission and drive shaft need changing
transmission is a turbo 400 diff is a sailsbury 2.78 disc diff drive shaft is std v8 shaft, any ideas or info from people who have done this or a similar conversion would be much appreciated also have they had any trouble getting it registered?

The drivetrain will bolt straight up. You have to use either a 10.5 inch chev flex plate and starter or convert the TH400 to a proper TH400 torque converter (HJ-WB TH400 have TH350 converters) and use an 11 inch flex plate. You will also need:
