Ok heres the story i'm rebuilding a 74' HJ caprice just stripping back the last of the paint back to metal when what do i find a 400mm section 10-15mm deep in car bog with the dodgyist pannel beating i've ever seen and a weld job that a monkey could do better at, if you have a look at the picture below you will see what i mean it's the passenger side rear wheel arch area between the door and wheel arch, i'm chasing down this whole section most the wreckers around me won't let you take grinders in to chop sections out so is any one out there wrecking a hj-hz sedan? <img src="http://members.iinet.net.au/~psycho1/hj/11100002.JPG">

Hi Glen,
Approximately 2 weeks ago at PICK A-PART in Kenwick, I noticed a Burgundy HJ Statesmen in the yard. From the firewall forward is mostly gone, but the section you are after is still on it. I have always found them to be more than reasonably fai

I cut & pasted the link into another browser. You are in need of a new dog leg section. No big deal as I believe that the long wheelbase Statesman shares this section with the Station Wagons & not the short wheelbase sedans. |

lonemonaro i know the stato your speaking of only thing is they wouldn't allow and grinders or oxys in the yard to take out the peice i need

unfortunately with the public liability laws and general crap that we in business go thru it is not viable to let people do these sort of things...i actually use an electric sabre saw which decreases my labour time and material cost letting me sell my cut |

I have a HJ Statesman Deville in the back paddock with the area you show in good order...

Sorry to hear about that mate, but going by "Classic Oz Wreck's" comments about Public Liability Laws, I can see the reasoning for it.

glen,had the opposite side nos...i have yet to check condition of second hand as i am experiencing a xmas rush...by checking i mean actually scratching away the paint to metal so you dont get a bogged up bit of crap in an otherwise good looking cut sectio |
