I hooked a metal halide stadium light onto my engine crane and suspended it over the car to keep everything at a happy temp. it works well , it's pretty nippy outside yet it's warm enough to spray in th' shed, My problem is im too darn scared to let fly with paint and thinners in the shed with it switched on, it takes five minutes to heat up and brighten to full stregnth so turning it on and off isn't a practical option. Is it safe or should i pack it in? P.S ventilation isn't an issue as i got none.

it's a huge light for basketball stadium ( simillar to a hydro light but BIGGER. thanks mate i've already decided to pack it in tonight.

Id say the chances of ignition would be slim but if it
did oh boy you might be lookin for a new garage!

Why have a v8 or a turbo when you can have both?

I had no issues when I used a couple of old IXL tastics.

In the old days, heat lamps were used with no flameproof protection, and there were never any incidents.

I can't see how it could ignite it unless you turn it on or off while the atmosphere is

Done deal, no problems at all with the light, i even (from outside, behind the door) sprayed neat thinners into the shed 'till you couldn't see ****, sealed her up and left it to see what hapens but nothing, shed sees another day and i can paint at night

thanks fellas, i've decided to take the light into town and i'll show the thing to a painter and a sparkie.Might move compressor outside after reading your input, that is a source of spark every time it kicks in, much appreciated.
