Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me what a 9929853 Holden 88 V8 manifold is off ?

I get a feeling it a Torrie or HG number as its pre-pollution !

Thanks John

Hi John,

It is not listed in my HQ parts Book nor is there a number that is even close...

In my HX Parts book, 9929854 is listed as being an Inlet Manifold for a 5 litre V8. Maybe it is an HJ part number?

Cheers...Dave

Dave,

Going by the numbers I think u must be on the money. It sure isnt HQ. And it is a 5 litre Quady manifold. It's a dual plane, smooth valley with opened up carby base...like a torker. Should do well once tidied up.

Cheers John

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info mate....all is well. You have been close enough for me to give me a clue to its origins. It's only going on top of a 253 to replace either a WWW Stromy and/or Holley setup I have.

It will be a Torana one. Possibly L34.

Hi Byron,

Woo Hoo...sounds even better !! That could explain the smooth valley floor and cutways below the carby then. Hmmmmmm. Worth more than the $40.00 I paid for it then.

Cheers John

John

Part number 9929854 is an LH SLR5000 EXCEPT L34. The L34 has part number 9936304. I've been discovering recently that GM alloy bits seem to have a casting number 1 digit less than the part number, and your manifold sort of goes along with this too

I don't know why the LH/early LX 308 valley had a different casting number to the HT-HQ. I'm not sure what is different about them. The block, heads, carby etc are all the same. The HJ books list the same number as the Torana. All I can think of is the LH
