OK have my gas problem sorted, now next is the electric tailgate. Problem is it won't come down, the switch on the dash was working perfectly fine yesterday, even so the key in the lock should bring the glass down, but nothing is working now! Problem is I have a steel cargo barrier so at the moment the cargo area is completely locked out!! The fuse is OK, what next?? I need to get the glass down to open the tailgate to investigate any further I'm guessing!!

Thanks

Peter

Thanks, yes, tonight I discovered my only chance was to undo the nuts holding the cargo barrier (in the wheel well) and pushing the bolts through into the cargo bay. Should work I hope, will find out soon enough!!

Cheers

Well the motor certianly gets power, when you operate the power window switch or key the interior light dims, so seems like a short in the motor hey?? Just have to get the cargo barrier out now so I can get to it!! I think I might fit a manual window sy

if it doing that i dare say its motor related, either a short like you say or maybe the motor has seized?
i reckon the idea of the elec window in tailgate is cool, cant you just take the cargo barrier out?

No it's a safety issue having the barrier, with two young kids in the back and prams etc behind them, well in case of an accident I don't want those flying around the car!! Will try another motor maybe firstly and see how long that lasts!

Thanks all for the comments, replaced the motor on the weekend (yes it was the motor), cargo barrier came out pretty easily by undoing the nuts in the wheel well pushing them through, lowering the back seat flat and laying the cargo barrier down. Undid t
