get as big as you can afford, and try to get one with 4 castors as they are less prone to tipping. 200kg is probably not big enough

I would think 200k is a bit close to the margin but remember that is safe working limit so probably has 50 or 60k margin. 4 castors is fine but if you have limited space that extra leg can be a nuisance.I have never had a problem with my 3 legged one tipp

I couldn't be bothered with the engine lift they are a pain to use and store. I rigged a gantry thing in the garage with a girder and girder trolley and a 1 tonne chain hoist.I can haul a motor out and just roll it back and forth. Used 3" X 1/4" flat bar

I have 2 stands.

1 rated at 450kg, 4 wheels.
1 rated at 250kg, 3 wheels.

The 250 is nowhere near as safe as the 450, and with 308s on both of them, the 250 is bending forward at the front, and is difficult to rotate.

As stated, the 4 wheel ones
Cheers,

Mick

I found my 4 wheeler exellent for moving the motor around ie.from carport to the shed with no worries about tipping over, as for a gantry we made our own out of 3inch waterpipe welded up and comes apart in 3 pieces , it was designed to pull a motor out of

Merry Christmas Guys,
Thats why I love my engine hoist as its mobile, I to have a stationery endless chain lifting position. Go with the 450kg rated engine stand therewould be nothing worse than having the stand fail and damage the engine or even worse h
