Hi Guys,
I posted a reply saying that not all HQ to WB Holden stud paterns were the same. One member tells me I was playing with my self well this may be true but it still does'nt alter the fact that some of the latter WB's had a different stud patern to the HQ's. The facts are: I was trying to sell my HQ alloy mags that I had on my HQ ute and a lady with a WB wanted to purchase them so I tried to fit them to her WB ute there and then but one hole one the front and back studs were slightly out.
I was told by another high ranking member of this forum site a couple of years ago that the latter WB's had a different stud patern maybe even the early Commodore patern.
Can anyone else confirm this to.

Elvis,

You have misread my post. Please go back and read it properly.

I did not accuse you of playing with yourself. I simply stated the fact that HQ - WB all ran one stud pattern which is the same as Chev's ran. AFAIK, no WB's had Commodore stud pa

Yes Qute is right they are all the same unless they have been changed. The only other fault is that some HQ-HX mags won't fit HZ and WB as the offset of the earlier mags allows the tierod end to hit on the wheel rim (knocking off balancing weights etc),

They are the same , I have HQ GTS rims on my WB van , (off topic)HZ statesman SLE and VB SLE have look a like rims but the stud pattern differs as does the offset, statesman ones have a deeper edge leading to the centre.but otherwise look identicle.

I had a december 1984 WB tonner. It had HQ stud pattern. The one thing metric that did creep in to WB's, although it never seems to be applied consistently is body bolts. Body bolts, inner guard screws etc have metric threads on SOME WB's, but still retai

Cloudy, those factory alloys you refer to are 14x6 inch on HZ SLE and WB Deville series 1, they are 15x6 inch on the SLE Commodores and with the different PCDs of course.

Plus 13x5 with 4.25" 5 stud PCD on UC SL/E, and 13x5 with 4 stud on SL/E Gemini.

Thanks Guys, I'm still not convinced that some of the latter WB's had different stud paterns because the rims the lady had on the WB where 14'' tyres and not 15'' Commodore rims, I'll check with the Holden pro's and see what they say if they say the same

I'd bet good money on Holden not changing the WB. They had already decided to kill it off, so why would they suddenly change to a Commodore stud pattern? It would mean producing special wheels to fit it as the 14" VK Commodore wheels are a totally differe

Discounting the tonners which had to have special wheels because of the weight rating, and we are aware of the problems with PCDs, it is not unknown for the manufacturers to mix and match runout models to use parts up and for special large orders. I once

That's true. However just assume that the last WB's had Commodore discs for a minute. I take the stance of them having the whole disc as it makes absolutely no sense for Holden to retool for the WB discs to be redrilled. If the WB had these discs, what wh

I'm with Byron on this one.

The very last WB Caprice resides in Birdwood motoring museum, and it waers the same cast alloys as all WB Caprice models.

I could not see them machining those alloys to a commodore stud pattern either.

What I find hard to believe is that someone would put a WB statesman in a museum.

This body shape started in 1971, designed in the mid 60's and continued up until early 2005. 500,000 examples sold in HQ alone. That's probably why.

A slight typo there, I think, Byron...the Wb's went in 85.

Elvis: Why do you find it hard to believe that someone would put a WB in a museum?
