Heres an interesting question I put to you's. I'm reading the Cruzin magazine Issue 11 Sept 2001 and on page 7 a guy is building a car with 2 engines side x side and in the diff department he has set it up so it has 2 diff centres on the one diff. So like the vehicle will use 2 engines, 2 gearboxes, 2 tailshafts, 2 diff centres. May you say why bother but I say if you never try you'll never know.

if you scroll down this page there is a really good photo of how most people join side by side twin engine setups. http://streetrodderweb.c...tones/0307sr_milestones/

people have been doing 2 motor set ups for ages. when my dad was a wee boy he used to drag race with a guy that put two motors in his rail. dunno details on it but i was shocked to hear about it originally!

the photo is actully of a car called Twin Mill which is a life size version of a hot wheels car. it uses a big plate joining the 2 motors to a single transmission, its a pretty common setup in tractor pullers

You say he's going the hard way about it, if it's his dream to build a vehicle with this setup and if it works its's probally the only one I say good on him for giving it a go, this is the kind of person we need to boldly go where no man has gone before.

the problem will be that if 1 engine is spinning at a slighty different speed to the other one the car will be uncontrolable, unless both diffs are locked and also locked together.
