It seems to be becoming harder and harder to find tyres to fit early modified Holdens. I am running 13" dragways on my HD the rears are inverted so they are very deep dish and the guards have been slightly flared to accomodate the wider wheel track. It seems all the tyre places I talk to say I would be better off going to a 17" rim as the tyre companies have decided to stop making 13"14"15" tyres above 205. I like the old school look and Simmons and Dragway want to charge $700 for wheels with early holden stud pattern (ROBBERS). Can anyone give me any other options, and paying $400 a tyre is just not viable.
Thanks Eddie Brock |

Frustrating, isn't it! I'm having enough trouble keeping 13" 205 tyres on my LH... I'm onto Yokohamas now (A509), because they were supposedly the only major tyre place making them last time I bought some. Checking the website now... that model is no l

Geez I hate big diameter rims on old school rides - I hope you can stick to the fat 13's - they are too cool. Don't any of the rice-burner brigade need 13/14" performance tyres?! Places like antique tyres etc might have something - or might get something

Dang - I didn't realise this was such an issue! I just got 14 x 9 rims on the rear of the tonner and it looks like tyres for them will be an exercise in patience and budgeting :(

Thanks Fred I'll give them a go. As for 17" wheels,Speedy seem to be all I can find that will drill the pattern and have the offset I need for the bargan price of $200 a wheel, quite reasonable (The Surocco 2). Not a bad looking wheel but not old school |

be careful putting aftermarket rims on a tonner they are not strictly speaking legal unless they are rated to a tonne, your insurance could use it as an out if you have a claim. Tonner wheels are fully welded around the rim and sometimes have UTE stamped
