Just wondering if anyone can help my with my old vl.
It started to take longer to change up gears a week ago so i checked the oil level which was a little low but topped that up and its still the same if not worse. now it wont change into overdrive at all and rev's pretty high befor changin up into 1st,2nd and 3rd. Any help would be good.

From memory these boxs run a vac modulator it may be that or the hoses leading to it or it may just need a trans flush/ service.

Hi eskino joe777.

You mentioned 'overdrive', so I assume you a talking about a VL 6-cyl with the RB30-E Nissan motor. The auto behind these is fully electronic, there are no modulators or kickdown cables. Get a pro to check it out. It could be internal
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Dr Terry. The VL workshop manuals say that the nissan trans do have a vac modulator. ?? They do some times have trans computer problems as well which can show some very strange symptoms.But the main repairs I have done on these cars were heads and crank
