Hi all,
Can anyone please help with the best way of painting the WB Statesman body moulding strips? Mine are grey and faded. Would paint be the best or is there a way to shine them up without losing the pattern?
Also, the factory power aerial in it is noisey when going up and down. Can hear it a mile away! Can the internal cogs be lubricated in any way to decrease the noise or do they all make this noise? I've cleaned/polished the antenna itself and its operation is smoother but hasn't helped with the motor noise. It fully extends and retracts with no problems.
any help greatly appreciated! thanks Rhys

Hi Rhys, The only way I can think of is to get some SEM Vinyl Prep (available from the panelbeater's supplies mob in Gibb St Cannington) and clean the vinyl really well. Then paint them with a vinyl dye. Mind you, I have no idea how long it'd last... Edited by user Wednesday, 21 February 2007 11:25:04 PM(UTC)

Automotive Paint Tools and Equipment 14 Gibbs St Cannington. The only problem I have seen with Vinyl spray is it rubbing thru on arm rests and door trims.

Thanks Dave and HQ SS,
I'll do what you've suggested and hopefully that will last. The car doesn't see a great deal of sun or rain so hopefully the dye will last.
cheers Rhys

If your WB airiel is making a clicking noise but is not going all the way down or all the way up and that is when it starts clicking then the internals are out of time with the airiel. Pull the cover off and look inside and it will be rather self explanit
