Mine are grey and faded. Would paint be the best or is there a way to shine them up without losing the pattern? Also, the factory power aerial in it is noisey when going up and down. Can hear it a mile away! Can the internal cogs be lubricated in any way to decrease the noise or do they all make this noise? I've cleaned/polished the antenna itself and its operation is smoother but hasn't helped with the motor noise. It fully extends and retracts with no problems. any help greatly appreciated! thanks Rhys

Pull the cover off and look inside and it will be rather self explanit
