I have a red 202 in an lj with an m20. I have been offered a 5 speed from a vh or vk for doing a little work. I was wondering if this would fit straight in, and if so is it based on the m21 just with an overdrive or is it a totally different box? If it is a different box is at as solid as an m21? Should I go with this box or just get an m21 like I was originally thinking? If it is a good box and doesnt fit straight in can it fit with a different bell housing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You willfind it is cable clutch on the 5 speed, so the biggest problem is going to be fitting the clutch cable to your pedal.

Cross member and tail shaft may also be different.

As Byron said it is only the ratios that are different in Aussie boxes,
