Hey guys,
I am going to bin the old 6 cylinder im my XM for a V8 but I am unsure as to what engine/slash gearbox set up would be a bolt in or just a good option in general.
Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions will be great.
Thanks

289 Windsor would be my first choice then 302 windsor. It all depends if you want a cruiser or something a bit gruntier.

I once saw "scmick", a purple XM ute with a turbo'd and injected 250. much less engineering required and plus it's a bit different.
no V8 will "bolt in", because it was never an option on the original car, but it's not as tho it's never been done. A wi |

Really awesome info guys thanks
Speaking to a guy at dinner last night he basically said the same thing. I think with a 351 im biting off more than I can chew so 302 windsor it is. And the tip for the heads, GOLD.

Ring an engine builder, then ring another four. They'll all tell you the same thing. No matter how much you spend on your engine, if you don't get the heads right, you're pouring your money down the drain. They don't flow well at all, even when ported. |
