I noticed that they dont appear to be the original HQ SS/Belmont door trims in the pics. Do you have the originals?

From memory I have one HQ belmont door trim only.I will have to check but I think I have about 5 or 6 black front door trims but no rears. The trims on the car are the only 4 black trims I have that match each other, so they went on.I am still looking for some real cheap ones for it. The seats are wrong too they have no rado flax inserts. The console is the wrong one too, the right one is still in the shed roof somewhere. I have added some more pics of the LH fender in primer now and 2 other pics of after I first got the car. http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/SS/?g2_page=2

Thanks Boom. Its geting closer to on road driving again. The colour is the original SS colour Lettuce Alone green. It will look beter after a rub back and when the black outs are done. If the rain stays away long enough for me to do them. Paul.

Time for an update. The SS now has had more blackouts painted on. So now the bumpers can go on and back to a lot more rubbing. The rest of the new pics are here http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/SS/?g2_page=3

Thanks Munromad2004. The rubbing has started. The SS is getting spoiled this time it was about 4 years after I painted before it was colour sanded last time. Paul

I thought that I had better update this a bit. I have not had to much time for the Q lately but it as been on a couple more cruises. PC14 PC15 and it has been put back to work again towing the 6x4 trailer and just recently a car trailer again. Which was a trip to Cuballing south of Perth and back. Instead of working on the Q,, I have been getting this back to a drivable situation. There are a few more pic of the Q here http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/SS/?g2_page=3
and there are other pics of the HR here http://gallery.oldholden...m/HQ_SS/HR+pics/Our+HR/

Up date time again. I have worked on the HQ but not much. I stripped a third bonnet back and found this. So I gave it a coat of GMH black to seal it and now I have to see which is the best of the three bonnets. Since then we have been to the Waroona All Aussie Car Show with another SS owner. For pictures of some of the cars there on the day go here. http://s174.photobucket....a%20All%20Aussie%20Day/
Since then the SS has had a run up to Geraldton for a spot of camping again. It ended up being a 1100km round trip. So not a lot of work on the car but it is back to its driving dutys again. I have added a few other pictures here again http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/SS/?g2_page=3
If you are interested in HQ SSs have a look here. http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/ss_001/
and at a new SS related site that I have started to put together here. http://www.freewebs.com/hqss/index.htm

I thought that I had better update this a little bit. Unfortunately the car has not had a lot of work done on it since the last update. About the only thing I can think that has been done on it was to replace the exhaust system with a new twin system again. It has put a few more kms on the odometer though. Its been on Oldholden Perth cruise 16.

It has also been on Oldholden Perth cruise 17 Its been back to work again with a trip to Narrogin again to pick up some HQ parts. And then On Perth Cruise 18. Here it is parked next to another Adelaide made HQ SS. The reason it has not been worked on was that my ute came out off the shed briefly. And it went from this

I fitted a BPM (beats pushing motor) The BPM fitted in with a 4 spd, 350 holley and extractors attached now. Which allowed it to be driven out the front for the first time in 10 years. Unfortunately its time out of the shed was very short because I bought another HQ sdn for parts. Edited by user Friday, 17 July 2009 8:26:50 AM(UTC)

And somewhere along the line I was conned by one of my older sons and the car became his. After a bit of a clean up. It scrubbed up not to bad. Then the floor mats and carpets were removed and we found rust. Which lead to the trip to Narrogin for the HQ parts. And then the rust work began. Floor removed. and front floor welded in. and the rear floor removed. And then all the floors are all welded in. Fully welded around the sides etc and the spot welds were all re-welded and additional welds were added as well. Edited by user Friday, 17 July 2009 8:42:57 AM(UTC)

Next came a quick grind up and a coat of red oxide paint. Along the way the 202 trimatic was removed and a 253 trimatic purchased. This was not 100% what my son wanted so another 253 and a celica 5spd was purchased and he now tells me that is what it is going to run for sure (we will see about that). more pictures of the ute are here http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/My+Ute/
and more pictures of my sons HQ are here. http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/Bens+HQ/
Well thats what has happened with me for the last year. Cheers Paul.
