By this time some were being fitted with direct action, although some very early ones also have direct action. September could have had either, but more likely direct. Absolute answer would depend on the production plant and exact date of manufacture

Thanks. It currently has the direct push rod and the original owner sais its never been off. Just want to know what model booster, ie. VH ??

Depends
There were 3

VH316 for cantilever
VH312
VH320

The difference between the 312 and 320 is the rear pushrod length by about 20mm

Now there were many numbers that were used and they all cross back to one of those 3
Alot had tin plates on
