I have a good H-series trimatic, and a dead Commodore Trimatic. Can I put the left hand shift rod from the Commodore Trimatic into the H-series Trimatic. So that I can fit the good trimatic into the Commodore.

Yes you can, but it is advisable to get an auto transmission specialist to do it for you. I've asked about this before and that is the answer which I was given. Just make sure it's a HQ-HZ box, not a HT or HG. Whislt the box is at the auto place get them

A few people have said it can't be done. But I thought it stood to reason that you could. As both boxes look to have provisions for either left, or right shift. Not to mention the amount it would have cost Holden to ret
