At this stage my budget doesnt stretch to aftermarket calipers so I was wondering which are the best standard calipers PBR, Girlock aluminium or cast iron? Or is there no difference in performance.

my vote girlock aloy.

but best option is upgrade to vt. it only cost me 400bux!! thats new calies, rotors, bearings, hubs, braded brake lines to works...

$400?! Where from and do you then use 15"(or bigger) commy rims...? Do the hubs just bolt on or what?

It's a BIT cheeky to say that, Jason. You're a qualified machinist with access to all the good machinery so you made LOTS of the conversion bits yourself. :-)

HX cast iron Gilrock calipers would be my favourite
Biggest pad
Failing that PBR cast iron
The alloy ones flex so I prefer the cast ones

haha yes sorry i did fail to mention that. i am a qualified machinist =). so yeh it is a bolt on thing, but i modified the brakets and made the hubs etc etc myself. and yeh u do need atleast 15" =) sorry to get anyones hopes up.... but if you are in
