hey fellas. have heard that an xa or xb fuel tank has a recess in it for a spare wheel? am i correct? if so does anyone have the dimensions? cheers

Yes,the standard XA, XB and XC tanks all have the recess to hold the spare. Can't give you dimensions though sorry.

The dimensions are approx 102cm wide X 82cm deep (front to back)
I have one laying around (for my coupe project) which I can photograph and/or measure other dimensions if you would like.

thanks guys. yeh would love a photo or the other dimensions if you wouldn't mind. i'm looking at putting it into an xp. have no idea what they actually look like so not sure if its going to work yet. just want to get rid of the clutter in the boot and won

No probs.
It is currently sitting in the boot of one of my coupes (not bolted in) with a few other bits and pieces on top of it so I'll dig it out on the weekend and get a few photo's of it.

OK. Here are a couple of pics for you.
I ran out of time this weekend so wasn't able to remove the tank and get photo's of it out of the car.
Hopefully these will give you a decent idea of the shape/style of the tank.

thanks so much Munromad, it looks like it will be a tight fit into an XP. the chasis rails are about 1015mm apart at the rear of the car. if you could find the dimensions of the tank that drops through the floor it would really be appreciated. the 820mm f

If you look around the very outer edge of the top you will see bolt holes. They are easy to see on the lower right hand side of the pic.
It simply sits in a hole in the boot and the overhanging lip is bolted to the boot floor from the top.
