Im looking for a VT V6 99 Series 2 compressor for an air conditioner. Im wondering if a VU Utes compressor would fit. If the motor's are the same it will fit. Can you tell me if the motor's are the same? Thanks all... Mick.

i am pretty sure they are the same as they were both ecotecs

VU is what they called the VT series ute. should be exactly the same.

Not quite. A "VT series ute" equivalent is a VS series III ute. A VU is basically a VX - just look at the headlights. Just like a VG ute is equivalent to a VN. All mechanically speaking of course as the question was about the engine area. Having said that

being both ecotecs the only thing that may be diff would be the compressor bracket

Hi Guys.

On VT onwards there is no separate compressor bracket, they bolt dirrectly to the engine block.

All V6 compressors fron VT to VY are Delphi V5s & are interchangeable. The VS Ecotec uses a Sanden 105 which will not interchange, because of

there was never a VT ute. A VU ute was the same as a VX ute. and yes the ac comp will fit.
