I have posted this on the ls1 forum with no reply so I thought I might post it here.
Recently, my new van (UWC) has developed a scraping noise in the front end when the car has been driven around for awhile. The car has been lowered 2" and done only 4000 kms.
At first, I thought it was Holden's fault due to the fact that it happened after I got the power steering lines replaced by them, but when I took it back to them they blamed my lowered suspension.
So, I thought I would take it Pedders to get an independent assessment done apart from where I got the lowered suspension installed. A few bolts needed retorquing but thats all.
Pedders recommended that I remove the mudflats but it happens apart from when I bottom out.
I think the discs are warped or maybe the pads are not retracting when the car has been driven.
If it is brakes, and I get Holden to repair them, is this common in new Commodores?
Could it be the tierods? I dont know.
The sound only happens when I turn corners and come to a stop. I think its the power steering but Holden has already looked at this.
I might take it to another dealer and get a second opinion.
I dont know what to do.
