could someone tell me what makes a trimatic thump back into low like its trying to tear the diff centre out ? its behind 202 hq with banjo diff

First thing to look at is your fluid level, vaccum lines and modulator.
The fluid level should be checked with the trans hot (15 minutes driving or 20 - 30 minutes at a fast idle and shifter moved through all gear positions a couple of times and at the
