Advice Please

This may be a silly question but I am a bit new to this game

The water coolant draining tap on left hand side of my cylinder block on my EJ grey motor leaks water.

I have turned it both clockwise and anti-clockwise to try and shut it off but it still leaks. I dont want to force it.

Which way should I turn it to close it so it doesn't leak?

If it is broken or continually leaks what can i do to repair it?

thanks

Jeff
