G'day fellas
I need to set the timing on my motor and from what I can gather it needs to be set to 8 degrees advance. Dead centre is easy but how do I know where 8 degrees is? How many degrees is each timing mark? At the moment I've left it at dead centre.
Also the mixture needs to be set right, i wound each one in until it started to get tight, then out 1.5 turns. Which screw do I turn which way to make it more rich, and vice versa?
It seems to be running ok so far but I've only been for a spin around the car park.
I've got a 060 block 308 with a mild cam and a quadrajet.

Each mark is 2 degrees, and therefore you want 4 marks towards the A, not the R.

The factory mixture adj on a Qjet is 4 turns out. But the actual fine ajustment will depend if you have the right Qjet for your combo . Edited by user Friday, 11 May 2007 7:42:17 AM(UTC)
