Just read about the results to AC Nielsen's usually secret vehicle reliability study:

http://www.drive.com.au/Editori...rticleID=39115&vf=2&pg=1

Holden and Ford did the worst. That said, it's important to realize that the absolute differences aren't large. "The worst" means that half of all owners have at least one problem in the first five months. Which means that half have no problems.

The study covers only the first five months or so of ownership. Other studies covering longer terms are still secret.

Feel that Australian car buyers should have access to reliability info? Help me provide it. Details here:

Vehicle reliability research

I'm focused on the North American market, but if 25 owners of an Austrialian-market model sign up, I'll collect that data and with enough responses will post the results. My focus is on car buyers, not the manufacturers. Everyone who participates will have access to all results.

My Falcon is 42 years old and still looks and goes great, taking her from Sydney to the gold Coast to Wintersun at the end of the month.
