307 engines have a 327 large journal crank, they are the same. The 30 uses a longer stroke crank.
Some people have bored their 307s 125 thou to make a 327 and then fitted a 350 crank to make a 2 bolt main 350 engine.
The advantage of doing this is

You can also take an aussie 307 out to 377 by using a 3.75" stroke crank. But if it's original for the car keep it stock, and if you want to go bigger use another block eg early HK pre Monaro.

A 377 is simply a 400 crank in a 4" bore block. You can buy brand new cranks ready to go with the mains already turned down to suit. Then you buy either pistons to suit the 3.75" stroke with 5.7" 350 rods, or 5.625" 400 rods. If you use 400 rods you won't |

Old age and memory loss starting to kick in early! Must have been thinking about 308 rods. Is the 3.75" stroker 307 you have using 350 rods or 400 rods? Just interested in how well the 307 bore bottoms handled rod bolt clearancing if you used the 5.7" lo |

Did you have to deck the block? You've moved the pistons 135 thou up the bore, and then dropped them back down by 135 thou by using shorter rods - clever use of cheap pistons! What compression ratio did you end up with?

How'd you go for piston to crank clearance at BDC?
