I am looking for a 308 engine or block. Casting number J011 through to J291 or anything in between - ie September 1971. Preferably still with a QT engine number on it - to go in a HQ 1971. I have a D230 April 1970 308 that I would consider selling/swapping. The engine is a fresh rebuild, 40 thou over, basically stock, but with a stage 1 cam and stiffer valve springs, but otherwise, just as god intended it.

I've got a QT 308 I was just about to put on the market - where's the casting number so I can see if it's what you want? Also where abouts are you?

What Greg has is better for your HQ than a QT prefixed block that isn't the original. Grab it. It's the next best thing to not having the original block.
