could any1 plz help me out here. my vn v62wagn is displaying an eng warn light and sumtimes a battery light. wen i floor it it cuts out for a second. and wen i flick my hi-beams on it cuts out while im driving. while displaying eng lite. u think my alternator stufd???

Well the best way to tell the condition of the alternator is to put a volt meter across your battery terminals. you should have about 12volts at your battery with the engine off. This should go up to about 13.8 volts with the engine running.

while you're looking at the reg check the wire that goes from the battery to it - it's a big chubba and I know in the VS's they perish and melt but of course they were ecotechs and I'm not too sure if the buick's had the same prob?

Sorry to hijack ya thread but i just did the check you said to do jim 5.0 on my efi 5ltr and with the car off the batt was reading 12 volts and with it running for the first 10 or so seconds it was jumping from 4 volts up to 12 then back to 4 but settled
