Can anyone tell me the difference between a 253 and a 308 Quaddy. The reason being that the Quaddy on my VK's 308 has seen better days and I have a very clean quaddy off a 253 VC to replace it with. Cheers.

the carbys will work on either ,I have swapped a 253 quad to a 308 and it worked fine, probably the same units.

Maybe Campbell is coming from a jetting angle?? Both units are the same butdiff jets. I know late 308 Quads had 76/77 main jets and 49P or 48K Prim rods (skinny) and secondary (fat) rods were CX's. You could try a 70 main, with teh same 48K/49P and see if

I know the carbs work fine when interchanged. But it is the jetting that I'm curious about. My understanding is that the earlier Quaddies(when applied to a Holden)ran one jet/rod combo. Yet the later ones ran 2 different jet/rod combos. It also stands

In the WB parts catalogue the only bit that is different betwwen carb 17066295 (308) and 17066297 (253) is the BODY ASSEMBLY - THROTTLE. That could just be because of vacuum connection points being different.

Hi Guys. The Q-Jet info I have says that there were a few combos over time.VB was 68 jet 48 rod and AN or CT sec rods for the 308.I dont have VC.VH was 70 jet and 49p rod and CX sec rods for the 253 and 71 jet and 50 rod and DP sec rods.VK-L had 71 jet 51
